NEW DELHI, June 12 (Xinhua) -- At least one terrorist was killed in India-controlled Kashmir's Sopore district on Wednesday, confirmed police sources.

The identity of the slain terrorist is being ascertained.

The clash between Indian security forces and the terrorists had begun during the night intervening Tuesday and Wednesday.

"One terrorist killed. Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition recovered. Identity and affiliation being ascertained," tweeted the local police.
